Ollie was smiling and laughing, so happy we were getting his cast off, until we set him on the exam table. Doctor visits will probably be associated with pain for some time. Though he wasn’t happy with the situation, he was a trooper and got through it with only a little crying. He even managed to show some love to the camera. This smile doesn’t look forced, does it?
The bar he's holding was part of his cast. It seemed to offer him some comfort or at least distraction.
The inside of that cast wasn’t pretty. It had yellowed from sweat and leaks over the 5 weeks, bleh. I’ve never been more excited about bathing a child. There was a lot of dead skin on his thighs that built up and wasn’t able to slough off. Thankfully there weren’t too many crumbs but there were quite a few fuzz balls from the sweatpants he had worn.
His legs ache a bit when he moves them since he’s been stuck in one position for so long. The bath seemed to help relax him a bit. Overall, he’s been pretty happy since we left. It’s weird to see him without the cast now though. His legs have gotten a little smaller but the most dramatic change has been in his waistline. He’s dropped a couple of inches there. Hopefully he’ll quickly put it back on.
Here he is right after we left already being goofy and blowing raspberries.

I wonder how much you could sell that thing for on Ebay. You could tell them that it was Sean Preston's or something...
HOORAY Oliver! He must be so relieved to have that off - and in time for Christmas too! Glad you survived it too, mom. :)

Is that really 5 weeks up already? I'm sure it feels much longer to you but it seems just like yesterday to me!
